Artist Bio

I am a self-taught artist and have been 'doing art' since I could hold a pencil or crayon. Transplanted from New Mexico over twenty years ago I feel like I am a native of North Carolina. The only formal art education I have is the classes taken in high school, most of my training comes from family. Art is the most relaxing and easiest thing I do. I love painting and have found a knack for oils, although I like watercolor as well. My first love is pencil and the detail I can achieve. I've done several portraits and only though of taking a picture of them recently. My paintings have been leaning towards flowers lately but I have many plans for the future including seascapes and old buildings. I have not had many showings, only in Smithfield at River City Arts, that will change.
