This has been quite an impressive summer season for Hot Summer Nights at the Kennedy Theatre, and the final production intends to close the three-month long series on a very high note. Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber’s one-act musical Tell Me on a Sunday will showcase the company’s own Lauren Kennedy as “Emma.”
This production will take on its own modern day artistic reinterpretation of the original material under the direction of Matthew-Jason Willis. Expect Kennedy to command the intimate theatre space, up close and personal, as she breathes life into the tale of an everyday, bright-eyed young woman in pursuit of big dreams and finding love in New York City, complete with all the stumbles along the way.
The two-week run at The Kennedy Theatre in Raleigh opens Wed. August 18-29, beginning at 8pm Wed. – Sat. and showing on Sundays at 3pm. All tickets are general admission and are priced at $22 and discounted at $18 for senior adults and students.
If you are unable to make the Raleigh run, you may catch the show in nearby Wilson at The Kennedy Campbell Theatre at Barton College from Sept. 1-5.
