“My first child entered Douglas in 1994; my last 'graduated' in 2006. The Magnet Program really does seem to cater to different kids' different learning styles. For each of mine, the experience was one of happiness and achievement close to the fulfillment of their potential; they did not want to leave! They were were well-prepared for Middle School. Their talents were recognized and encouraged, and weaknesses were acknowledged and worked on; I was informed of areas of difficulty so could help them at home. The teachers and other staff are talented, dedicated, approachable, and do much more than their job descriptions require; I have seen a lot of help given to new families, not just to settle in to the school, but also to settle in to the city. Other parents have been helpful and welcoming. Several fun and challenging extra-curricular activities available. (Principal new so have not rated).”
